I finished my first triathlon
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
I started racing in triathlons because they are fun and challenging. I am passionate about encouraging more women to discover their inner athlete by trying a tri.
There is no questions that entering your first triathlon can be intimidating. Because of the three-sport format, it is as if there are three times as many questions. When you glance around before the start of a race it may appear that everyone else is seasoned, extremely, fit veteran with the most expensive high-tech equipment available; however, if you look closely at the transition area of your local triathlon, you will find equipment ranging from mountain bikes to touring bikes to the latest racing bikes. Although you also will see a wide range of body types and levels of fitness, every person will have the same gleam in their eyes, reflecting a determination to meet their personal goals.
You will discover that your feelings of intimidation are founded when you do your first race. There tends to be a lot of camaraderie in triathlon.

a first triathlon is a transformational. Just a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. To push the boundaries that a times confine us, to question the terms that define us. Triathlon helps us destroy the myths and negative beliefs that holds us back. Inspire you, fire you up, with the belief that you can do a triathlon ... Because.. YOU CAN ! We'll tackle head-on the realities of life that might hold you back if you let them, because I'm certain that you do not have to let them.
Think about the powerful statement: "I am a triathlete". Say those words yourself. Deciding to train for a triathlon begins with a transition, a shift in perspective: changing how you see yourself.
It is just not true that all triathletes eat nails and only know how to talk to a bike, their running sneaks or themselves as they float, coast and shuffle. We are really simple folks. We train because we enjoy it, certainly not for the money or the fame, and usually not because of our egos. When I tell people that I have fun when I train, the look of awe turns into a look of incredulity. Nevertheless, for me, being a triathlete is a matter of being a kid again. I have fond memories of swimming, riding bikes and running as a child, and triathlon let me frolic in that playground again.

"Can I really be fun to train so much?" some might ask. For me it's the truth - training is the best part of my day. When I train I can get away from my desk and the pressure of making decisions. I can free my mind from the daily grind.
As a result, I have some of my most creative moments when I am training. And although I do get tired, it's a "good tired". It's a time for me and my health and fitness. To be a triathlete is to have fun.
Completing your first triathlon is a great goal, and one that can lead you to a whole new idea of yourself.
