Proverbios a la Tica se les dice: Dichos

Me encontré con unos "Proverbs" en inglés, que traduciéndolos al Español de Costa Rica, es lo que se conoce como: Dichos.

Aquí hay algunos que encontré y me gustaría me ayudaran a traducir algunos:



"Two wrongs don't make a right."


"The pen is mightier than the sword."

"Fortune favors the bold."

"Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst." 


"Better late than never."  - Mejor tarde que nunca


"Birds of a feather flock together."


"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

"A picture is worth a thousand words."


"There's no such thing as a free lunch." - No hay almuerzo gratis


There's no place like home." - No hay lugar como el hogar


"Discretion is the greater part of valor."


"The early bird catches the worm." - Quien madruga Dios le ayuda - Quien madruga come pechuga


"Never look a gift horse in the mouth." - A caballo regalado no se le colmillo


"You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs."


"Practice makes perfect." - La práctica hace al maestro


"God helps those who help themselves." - A Dios rogando y con el mazo dando


"You can't always get what you want." - No siempre se gana


"Cleanliness is next to godliness." - Donde hay orden está Dios

"Actions speak louder than words." - Las acciones hablan más que las palabras

"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." - Si no puedes vencerlos, úneteles

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." - No hagas a otros lo que no te gustarían que te hicieran

"You snoose, you lose." - Camarón que se fuerme, se lo lleva la corriente / Quien pestañea pierde

"You can't have the cake and eat it too." - No se puede tener todo


"Out of sight, out of mind." - Ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente

"He let the cat out og the bag." - Contó el secreto

"She hit the nail on the head." - Dió en el clavo

"Great minds think alike." - Los genios piensan igual
